From my earliest memories, I recall being excited by colors, shapes and textures. My parents, realizing my creative bent, sent me to drawing and painting classes as a child. About 15 years ago I again renewed my interest in art and studied at the college level and also received private instruction in various mediums of fine art. In 2002, I began in earnest to build a business that blended fine art and beautiful faux finishes. I took design classes with Barth White and Bev Daitch in Las Vegas, which further encouraged me to move forward with my artistic education and my business.
Since then, I have continued studying with several master artists such as Pierre Finkelstein, Sean Crosby, and Mike Hoppe of Faux Masters Studio. I have also attended fauxcademy conferences and IDAL (International Decorative Artisans League) conferences where I was privileged to interact with and observe demonstrations from many world-class artists, as well as hone my skills in several hands-on workshops.
With over 6 years experience in decorative painting, (residential, commercial, model homes and 3 showcase homes) I now have an extensive portfolio. I have developed various plaster techniques, multiple-layered finishes, glazes and hand-painted designs. When working with a client I always present sample boards to help guide them in their decision-making process. I strive to really listen to my clients and pay close attention to their vision, while offering options for them to consider.
The design possibilities are endless and I enjoy the challenge of creating unique and custom finishes for clients. I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in such a creative and exciting job environment, and to make a living doing what I love.
